Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
AutoShort turns your ideas into short videos. You are responsible for what you ask it to make and for what you publish. This policy lists what is not allowed, how we enforce it, and how to report something that breaks it. It is part of our Terms of Service. These rules apply to every way of using AutoShort: the website, the chat, the API, the MCP connector, series on autopilot, bulk generation, templates, and anything you upload or link.
1. What you may not create
1.1 Sexual content and anything involving minors
- Sexual, pornographic or nude content, including sexually suggestive depictions of anyone.
- Any sexualized, exploitative, abusive or dangerous depiction of a child or minor. This is prohibited without exception.
- Using the face, body or voice of a minor.
Sex education, health, and news reporting that is not sexually explicit are allowed.
1.2 Impersonating real people and violating privacy
- Videos of real, named people (celebrities, politicians, creators, athletes, or private individuals), or imitating their face, body or voice.
- Deepfakes, face swaps, voice clones, and fake endorsements or testimonials.
- Uploading a photo of a real person to animate it, or using a real person's face as a character reference.
- Exposing a private person's identity, address, phone number or other personal data.
Create original, fictional characters instead.
1.3 Copyright and trademark infringement
- Characters, worlds and logos you do not own: cartoon, film, game, anime and comic characters, brand marks, mascots.
- Song lyrics, film or TV scripts, book text and other protected works reproduced word for word.
- Copying, cloning or re-uploading another creator's video, channel or script.
- Counterfeit goods, fake or replica products, and content that pretends to be an official brand account.
Commentary, reviews and news that name a brand are fine. Showing or recreating its protected material is not.
1.4 Illegal and harmful activity
- Instructions for making weapons, explosives or illegal drugs; fraud, scams, counterfeiting and money laundering; hacking and malware; terrorism and violent extremism; human trafficking.
- Content that encourages or gives instructions for suicide, self-harm or eating disorders.
- Attempts to get around our safety checks, for example by asking the system to ignore its rules.
Documentaries, awareness, safety and educational content about these topics are allowed.
2. How we enforce this
- Automated checks. Your text, images and uploads are checked before a video is created, and the generated clips of AI-motion videos are checked again before they are delivered. If a request is refused, nothing is created and you are not charged.
- Strikes. A refused request is recorded as a strike. Repeated refusals for the same kind of content within 30 days pause video creation on your account while we review it.
- Immediate suspension. Sexual content involving a minor leads to immediate suspension, and we report apparent child sexual abuse material to the competent authorities.
- Records. We keep a log of refused requests for 90 days. It stores a fingerprint and a short, redacted excerpt, not the full content.
- Removal. We may remove content, disconnect connected channels, and suspend or terminate accounts that break this policy, and we cooperate with platforms and rights holders.
Automated checks are not perfect. If we refused something that you believe is allowed, write to us and a person will look at it.
3. Report abuse or request a takedown
Email support@autoshort.org with the subject Abuse report. Include a link to the video or channel, what rule you think it breaks, and how we can contact you. We acknowledge reports within two business days and act on reports about minors and non-consensual imagery first.
Copyright or trademark owners: send the same email with the subject Copyright takedown, and include (a) the work you own, (b) the URL of the infringing video, (c) a statement that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner and that the use is not authorized, and (d) your name and contact details. We remove infringing content and may disable repeat infringers.
People shown without consent: if a video uses your face, body or voice, or your personal data, tell us at the same address. We remove it.
4. Changes
We update this policy as the law, our payment providers and the platforms we publish to change their rules. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use AutoShort means you accept the current version.
