Data Deletion

You can delete your AutoShort account, disconnect any account you linked, or ask us to delete specific data at any time. This page explains each option and exactly what is removed. What we collect is described in our Privacy Policy.

1. Delete your account

By email (works for every account)

Email privacy@autoshort.org from the email address of your account, with the subject Account Deletion Request. You do not need to sign in. We confirm within 72 hours, delete your account, its data and your rendered video files within 30 days, and reply when it is done.

In a AutoShort app, where you have one

  1. Open the app and sign in to the account you want to delete.
  2. Go to Settings and tap Delete My Account.
  3. Confirm with Delete permanently.

Your account and everything linked to it in our database are deleted immediately: your videos, API keys, connected YouTube or TikTok accounts and their access tokens, and your usage history. Rendered video files on our storage are not yet removed automatically by this button; email us as above and we delete them within 30 days.

Subscriptions: account deletion does not automatically cancel renewal. Before deleting, cancel with the provider shown on your receipt: Dashboard billing for website purchases, the App Store for iOS, or Google Play for Android.

2. Disconnect a linked account only

In AutoShort, open Dashboard → Settings and click Disconnect next to the account. The stored access and refresh tokens for it are deleted from our database immediately. To also revoke AutoShort's permission on the platform side:

  • Google / YouTube: myaccount.google.com/permissions
  • TikTok: Settings and privacy → Security and permissions → Apps and services
  • Facebook: Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites (or Business Integrations)
  • Instagram: Settings and activity → Website permissions → Apps and websites
  • Threads: Settings → Account → Website permissions

Videos you already published stay on those platforms; delete them there if you want them gone.

3. Facebook, Instagram and Threads (Meta) data deletion instructions

AutoShort does not let you connect a Facebook Page, Instagram account or Threads account yet (Instagram shows as "Coming soon" in Settings), so today we hold no data about you from Meta. If you ever signed in or connected through a Meta product and believe we hold Meta data about you, the steps below still apply and we will confirm in writing that nothing is stored.

When we add Facebook, Instagram or Threads publishing, connecting will be optional. It will give us only your Page or account ID, name, username and profile picture, and an access token for the publishing permissions you approve on Meta's consent screen, used only to publish the videos you choose to the account you choose. This page and our Privacy Policy will list those permissions before the feature launches.

To have data AutoShort received from Meta deleted:

  1. Remove AutoShort from your Meta account: on Facebook, Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites (or Business Integrations), select AutoShort and click Remove; on Instagram, Settings and activity → Website permissions → Apps and websites; on Threads, Settings → Account → Website permissions.
  2. Email privacy@autoshort.org with the subject Meta Data Deletion Request and your account email or the name of your Facebook profile or Page. We delete everything AutoShort received from Meta within 30 days and confirm by email when it is done.

4. What is kept

  • Transaction records (amount, date, plan) that tax and accounting law require us to keep, for as long as that law requires.
  • Product analytics events in PostHog linked to your account are not removed by in-app deletion. Ask in your deletion email and we delete them too.
  • Server and error logs, kept for a limited time for security and debugging.

5. Your legal rights

Under the GDPR (EU/EEA) you have the right to erasure (Article 17), handled without undue delay and within 30 days. Under the CCPA (California) you have the right to deletion (§ 1798.105), handled within 45 days.
