Language learning: prompt recipes

Vocabulary and phrase shorts with narration in the language you teach and a translated second caption line. No repo template exists for this, so the recipe is built only from supported features.

1 recipe on this page: 0 verified, 1 untested. Our videos are AI-generated and say so when we post them. Connect AutoShort first with the steps on the MCP page, then paste a brief into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Gemini CLI.

How to read a recipe

  • Verified means a real video was made through the product from this recipe or its direct predecessor, and the card links the public video and states the honest result, including low view counts.
  • Untested means we have not rendered a video from it yet. Drafting, editing and pricing are free; rendering costs credits.
  • The brief builds a draft you read before anything is charged. The assistant should call autoshort_render_draft only after you say yes. Prices come from the live price list: see pricing and costs. You can try the script step free on the free script preview.

Honest limits for this channel type

  • Voices differ by language: check autoshort_list_options with the language code.
  • Do not ask for words written in the image. Captions carry the words.

Recipes (1)

Narration in the language you teach, with a second caption line in the learner's language (captionSecondaryLanguage). Built from supported features; not yet run.

Untested. No archived video was made as a language lesson. The second caption line itself is used on our own videos, and our Oct 12 Turkish-narration short exists, but neither was made from this recipe.

Hook (nine words or fewer)

“Cinco palabras para la cocina.”

Frame 1, already in motion

A steaming pan on a hob, a wooden spoon already stirring, camera pushing in.

The brief to paste

Use autoshort_generate_chat_video to make a 30-second Spanish vocabulary short.
Arguments: language "es", captionSecondaryLanguage "en", targetDuration 30, artStyle AUTOSHORTS, aspectRatio 9:16.
Send this as the message (the product writes the script from it):
> Teach five Spanish kitchen words in 30 seconds. Open on the first spoken line: "Cinco palabras para la cocina."
> Then, one scene each: la sartén (the pan), la cuchara (the spoon), el cuchillo (the knife), la olla (the pot), el plato (the plate). Say the word, then one short example sentence.
> Close by repeating the five words slowly.
> Pictures: photographic, warm kitchen light, one object per scene, a pan on a hob already steaming in frame 1. No people, no faces, no readable text or labels anywhere in any image.

First price it with autoshort_estimate_cost and wait for my yes. When the video is finished, call autoshort_get_video and tell me whether the second caption line is on the video.
Art style
AUTOSHORTS (Professional). Objects only: vocabulary is shown by the object, and the words come from captions.
Length and format
30 seconds, 9:16.
Language
Narration: Spanish (es). Second caption line: English (en).
Voice
Voices exist per language; check autoshort_list_options with the language code. Not every language has the same voices.
Caption look
Picked automatically through MCP. In the dashboard's Motion graphics (beta) style, the "Paper" look is the first one listed for this genre.
Estimated cost
40 credits (about $0.63 on the Starter plan, $0.80 at the $0.02-per-credit list rate). Ask for the price first: autoshort_estimate_cost quotes it for free.
Tools it triggers

Visual direction for the images

  • One object per word, named in the visual in plain English even when the narration is another language.
  • Never ask for the word written on a card or a board: images cannot spell it. The captions carry the word.
  • Same kitchen, same light in all scenes.
  • Check the finished video for the second caption line: ask autoshort_get_video or watch it before you post.

Two variations

Another language pair: “Cinq mots pour la maison.”

French narration with English captions; the same five-word pattern.

Use autoshort_generate_chat_video to make a 30-second French vocabulary short.
Arguments: language "fr", captionSecondaryLanguage "en", targetDuration 30, artStyle AUTOSHORTS, aspectRatio 9:16.
Send this as the message (the product writes the script from it):
> Teach five French words for the home in 30 seconds. Open on the first spoken line: "Cinq mots pour la maison."
> One scene each: la porte (the door), la fenêtre (the window), la chaise (the chair), la table (the table), le lit (the bed). Say the word, then one short example sentence.
> Close by repeating the five words slowly.
> Pictures: photographic, bright home interior, one object per scene, a hand turning a door handle in frame 1. No faces, no readable text.

First price it with autoshort_estimate_cost and wait for my yes. When the video is finished, call autoshort_get_video and tell me whether the second caption line is on the video.
English for a Vietnamese learner: “Five words for the kitchen.”

English narration with a Vietnamese caption line.

Use autoshort_generate_chat_video to make a 30-second English vocabulary short.
Arguments: language "en", captionSecondaryLanguage "vi", targetDuration 30, artStyle AUTOSHORTS, aspectRatio 9:16.

Do not

  • Do not rely on the second caption line without watching the result: in two of our tests the product skipped or dropped it.

What we saw: captionSecondaryLanguage "vi" was sent but no Vietnamese caption line was burned in. (our note: qa-dumpling-ep4.md, line 34.)

  • Do not assume an account default for the second line: set captionSecondaryLanguage on the call.

What we saw: The account-default second caption line was skipped by the product with a warning; primary captions only. (our note: qa-dumpling-ep1.md, line 52.)

  • Do not ask for the word as text in the picture.

What we saw: The long uppercase no-text block made the image model redraw garbage text on 3 of 11 trial videos; a short "Pure illustration with no writing in it." replaced it. (our note: howto.md, line 7.)
